True Edge Tuesday with Chirag Shah

Chirag drove SharkNinja’s first medical device launch by mastering complex regulations and powering future breakthroughs.

Meet Chirag!

Armed with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chirag Shah has always approached the world as an engineer at heart. Last year, he joined SharkNinja’s CORE team as a Senior Quality Engineer, helping drive best-in-class customer satisfaction for the company’s latest venture into the skincare category. Originally from India, Chirag moved to Chicago in 2018 and now proudly calls Boston home as he embarks on the journey ahead.

“Being Outrageously Extraordinary is about never settling for ‘good enough.’ It’s about waking up every day with a hunger to learn something new, explore what’s unknown, and push past what’s familiar."

“Some of the best days at SharkNinja are when I uncover a challenge that forces me to stretch not just technically, but mentally.”

Outrageously Extraordinary in Action

Right before the mass production gate, a key milestone when the final design is approved for large-scale manufacturing, for one of SharkNinja’s products, Chirag discovered that it would need to meet Class 2 Exempt medical device requirements, just two months before launch. The team had limited visibility into what this meant in practice or how to update existing documentation to meet the new standards.

Chirag quickly assembled a cross-functional team, engaged several regulatory consultants as subject matter experts, and worked with leadership to create a well-defined project scope. He coordinated workstreams to convert design documentation into fully compliant submissions, ensuring the product could launch on time in the U.S.

He went well above and beyond his normal responsibilities, adapting on the fly, reacting quickly to the pivot, and leading with a “how can we?” mindset. It wasn’t just about meeting the bar; it was about raising it without derailing the launch.

What does it mean to be Outrageously Extraordinary (OE)?

To me, being Outrageously Extraordinary is about never settling for “good enough.” It’s about waking up every day with a hunger to learn something new, explore what’s unknown, and push past what’s familiar. Some of the best days at SharkNinja are when I uncover a challenge that forces me to stretch not just technically, but mentally.

Being OE means having the courage to pursue vision that might feel impossible at first. It’s that drive to not only solve problems but to do so in a way that raises the bar for what’s possible.

True Edge is described as “a key principle of the OE mindset, combining vigilance, innovative insight, and strategic solutions to create a competitive advantage that is exceptionally hard to replicate.”

What’s your True Edge, or what are you working to build?

My True Edge lies in my ability to think critically and act fearlessly. I ask probing questions to get to the real root cause of a problem, especially when time is short and the stakes are high. I thrive in this kind of situation and actually enjoy tackling challenges I’ve never faced before.

Whether I’m navigating unknowns or reimagining the process from scratch, I bring a mindset that says: Let’s figure it out on the way! That mix of curiosity, ownership, and drive to simplify complexity is what I’m always working to sharpen.

Can you share examples of how you live OE?

I had the opportunity to contribute to one of SharkNinja’s most ambitious initiatives—launching our first-ever medical device, CryoGlow. Medical product launches are complex on their own, but our team went above and beyond by successfully completing the FDA registration and the European Union Medical Device Regulation certification in just eight months. Typically, this regulatory process takes between one and a half to two years in the medical technology industry.

That accelerated pace was only possible because we operated with a true OE mindset: I dove into regulatory details I had never tackled before. We asked difficult questions early on, challenged assumptions, and held ourselves to a higher standard of precision and speed.

Now, just one year later, we are on track to launch additional products, with even more innovations currently in development. I continue to lead efforts to help our teams navigate the complex medical device regulatory landscape while maintaining the fast-paced OE timeline.

What makes working at SharkNinja special?

It always comes back to the people. I get to work alongside some of the most brilliant, driven, and curious minds. There’s a real sense of shared purpose here. Everybody wants to deliver world-class and impactful products, and no one’s afraid to roll up their sleeves.

What also stands out is how accessible and engaged our leadership is. Whether you’re solving a product issue or navigating a career decision, there’s always someone willing to offer guidance and clarity. At SharkNinja, you’re never on your own, and that’s what makes even the toughest challenges feel possible.

Please join us in congratulating Chirag for being this week's True Edge Tuesday!
