Every innovation at SharkNinja begins with a question: How can we solve a real problem for our consumers? From there, creativity, design, and engineering bring the solution to life. Through our partnership with the Massachusetts Science & Engineering Fair (MSEF), we’re helping the next generation of STEM leaders tackle problems the same way, empowering middle and high school students to explore, experiment, and create solutions that could shape the future.
The MSEF mission aligns closely with ours: to positively impact people’s lives every day through meaningful innovation. Together, we’re helping guide the next generation of STEM innovators by giving them hands-on experiences and real-world insight into how their ideas can make a real-world impact.
Recently, SharkNinja volunteers joined the MSEF Student Symposium at MIT, to showcase the science behind frozen beverage technology with the Ninja SLUSHi. One unit was fully operational, filled with Coca-Cola as the liquid to demonstrate the machine’s standard functionality. The second one remained empty, showing a clear view of its internal components for a more in-depth explanation into the mechanics and engineering behind the product. Both SLUSHis were used as a teaching tool to show the students the science behind how the product functions.
The result? A classroom of future engineers taking notes, asking smart questions, and diving deep into everything from the freezing point to the kickdown system. As Jacob Benjamin, Mechanical Engineering Co-op, shared: “It was tons of fun to meet and talk with the students. They asked good questions behind the mechanics of the machine but a lot of them also asked broader questions about engineering and the challenges we face and being able to share my perspective was awesome.”
Meeting SharkNinja volunteers inspired students to start creating projects for the upcoming 2026 Science Fair, where they will present and be evaluated by a panel of judges.

Our work with MSEF is one part of our signature philanthropy program, Innovation for Impact, which advances innovation and empowers the next generation of innovators. Additionally, we recently launched the SharkNinja Innovation Challenge in partnership with MassChallenge, a nationwide competition that invites university students and emerging innovators to pitch solutions to real-world problems. Applications are open until October 24, 2025.
